A leading Newcastle based company in the short term luxury apartment letting business with the majority of her client base being male tenants. Terri who owns the company is one of my favourite clients as I have work with her for over six years. I really have a lot of fun working on Terri's projects (one of the perks of the job). Below is a cover for the Christmas 2009 North East Times magazine. Terri had arranged a series of PR articles and bought a series of advertising space and the cover. In the initial brief Terri had the idea of having a Burlesque theme like the famous Dita Von Teese for the cover (well it’s a dirty job, but someone has to do it). ![]()
See. below an earlier cover for the North East Times magazine. Terri had the idea of using the iconic Lewis Morley Christine Keeler photo linked with the The Profumo Affair as one of her friends had once said there was a likeness, I have to agree, I did try and get Terri to pose naked as the original photo, but my powers of persuasion let me down! The hardest part of the project was locating the Christine Keeler, Arne Jacobsen look-a-like chair but after a lot of research we managed to buy a similar chair from a prop company in London. The North East Times magazine said it was the best cover they had ever ran.
Well they would say that, wouldn't they! As I said before I have done a number of projects for Terri. Here's a cheeky advert we did. We had a meeting to discuss what the competition was doing and how all Letting Agencies adverts seemed to look the same. My brief was to create a series of magazine adverts that would grab the attention of the readers. Following discussions with Terri I found that 80% of her clients are male and that the busiest time of year is just after the Christmas holiday, when apparently a lot of males split from their partners (must be all the Christmas cheer or stress!). Using low cost library photography the advert was really effective. I must state Terri my client definitely didn’t pose for the photograph.
